Optace CAT 6 UTP Keystone Jack
The Optace CAT 6 UTP Keystone Jack is the RJ45 termination module used at both ends of a horizontal cable run: snapped into a faceplate at the work-area outlet, or into a keystone patch panel or surface box in the comms rack. It terminates solid horizontal cable and presents a standard 8P8C socket, supporting 1000BASE-T and Power over Ethernet, and 10GBASE-T over the shorter link lengths that ANSI/TIA guidance allows on Category 6.
The module is unshielded (UTP) and rated to 250 MHz in line with ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO/IEC 11801 Class E. Conductors terminate into 110-style insulation displacement contacts accepting 22 to 26 AWG solid cable, with both T568A and T568B colour schemes marked on the body so the jack can be wired to whichever convention the site uses. The socket contacts are gold plated over nickel for a stable low-resistance interface, the housing is moulded in flame-retardant thermoplastic, and the snap-in keystone footprint fits standard faceplates, patch panels and surface boxes.
