The Thuraya XT-PRO is the current state-of-the-art Thuraya handheld phone. It is feature rich and offers voice, SMS, 9.6 kbps data, and GmPRS packet data. A variety of docking stations are available for it.
The Thuraya XT-LITE has less features than the XT-PRO. In particular it does not offer any data services, and there are no docking stations available for it.
The Thuraya XT is a legacy product. Some may still be available on the market. It is rugged and has a high resistance to shock and vibration. It is highly resistant to dust and water intrusion. The small size and excellent size to weight ratio make the Thuraya XT easy to handle. It has a user friendly menu with many features including a personal organizer with a calendar and alarm function, as well as a GPS navigation function. The XT is one of the smallest and lightest phones on the market. It is 5.1 in. X 2.1 in. X 1 in. (128mm X 53 mm X 26.5 mm) (H x W x D) and weighs 6.8 oz. (193 gm). You will also notice that the Thuraya XT is particularly easy to read outdoors even in bright sunlight. It has a large 2 in. (5 cm) display that is glare resistant and has a brightness sensor that control the back-lighting based on the ambient light level.
The Thuraya XT DUAL is a legacy product that is similar to the XT except that it also has a GSM cellular mode.
